The Salute to Smiles Program
Salute to Smiles is a program designed to connect area oral surgeons and dentists with military backgrounds with local veterans in order to provide much needed dental procedures at no cost. Salute to Smiles began in 2015 and was inspired by Bay Oral Surgery & Implants Center’s three former military oral surgeons, Dr. David LeMoine, Dr. Bradley Koch, and Dr. Charles Ellis as a way to give back to area veterans. Since Salute to Smiles began, 27 veterans in the Green Bay area have benefited from this great program.
Unfortunately, many veterans cannot afford the dental care they need. As a result, they can suffer from health complications due to missing teeth – such as bone deterioration in the jaw and malnourishment from the inability to chew nutritious foods—and other dental problems. Salute to Smiles doesn’t just restore the dental health of these veterans, it also restores their confidence by giving them their smile back!
Now in its fourth year of serving local veterans with Salute to Smiles, Bay Oral Surgery & Implant Center, in partnership with other local dentists, is helping eight local veterans with their dental issues to get their smiles back in 2019. Together, they will cover all expenses for the veterans who otherwise could not afford these much-needed procedures. Dental procedures range from implants and bridges to extractions, crowns and dentures.
